TREATING ANXIETY DISORDERS IN YOUTH
Philip Kendall, Temple University, Child and Adolescent Anxiety Disorders Clinic, USA
AC Hotel Room: Eixample
Anxiety disorders are prevalent among youth and if untreated can be associated with adult anxiety disorders, adult mood disorder, and substance abuse. Early identification and treatment for anxiety disorders in youth is important.
Having provided workshops for EACBT, BABCP, and ABCT over the past 20 years, I would describe myself as someone who provides attendees with a research-informed and clinically-sensitive experience that not only provides hands-on clinical materials and content, but also provokes thinking about cases and the relevant data to inform treatment. Developmental and family issues are discussed within an organized framework for the treatment of anxiety disorders in children and adolescents.
